Boozy Wires are our attempt to collect all the best foodie and boozy things going on for the month. We update this page as we hear about new things, so check back here regularly to find out what’s up. You can also like us on Facebook as we post all these news items & events there too.

PARAMUS: Zinburger (a “better burger” chain hailing from AZ with a popular branch on Route 3 in Clifton) is under construction and setting up shop in the old Napa Valley Grille space (across from California Pizza Kitchen) in Garden State Plaza

NEW MILFORD: Brooklyn Brewery’s Jersey rep Mike Ferry will lay siege upon the taps of Jersey Boys Grill featuring a selection of Perennials and Seasonals on June 26th at 7:00pm.

TENAFLY: Construction is underway at the space that formerly housed Savoy Bakery in Tenafly. A sign announcing Olive Bakery has taken it’s place (see photo below).

TENAFLY: After 7 years, Segreto Restaurant has closed its doors. A visit to their website has confirmed the news. A new restaurant named Zana D will be replacing it (see photo below).

DEMAREST: Yasou Mykonos (new Greek restaurant in Demarest) will be offering delivery in addition to dine-in and takeout service.

NORTHVALE: A Moe’s Southwest Grill is expected to open in the Northvale Square Shopping Center (271 Livingston Street). UPDATE: They are now open. View

LEONIA: The All Saint Episcopal Church will be hosting a Pasta Throwdown on Saturday June 2nd featuring approximately 14 local restaurants presenting their best pasta dishes! Three top presentations will be chosen by participant votes!

NORTHVALE: Bamboo has added new kitchen items, rolls and expanded the sashimi section on their All You Can Eat Sushi menu (with separate menus for lunch & dinner).

TENAFLY: The Tenafly Chamber of Commerce will be hosting their Surf’s Up Street Fair with unique vendors, rides and food Saturday and Sunday June 9-10 from 10am-6pm.

CRESSKILL: WannaBee Chef will be hosting a Kids’ Summer Camp open house Saturday June 2nd and Friday June 8th featuring a tour, healthy cooking demo and complimentary lunch for parents of budding gourmands.

PARAMUS: As CUPS Yogurt continues it’s march across NJ, their recently opened Paramus branch will be hosting a grand opening party Friday June 1st with prizes including the chance to win free froyo for a year.

TENAFLY: The 42nd Annual Taste of Greece will be held May 31st thru June 3rd featuring traditional Greek foods, music and dancing (including Greek folk dances), amusement rides & carnival games and a bazaar with crafts, jewlery and more.

WESTWOOD: The Taste of Westwood will be held on June 3rd with food from area restaurants, wine tasting, silent auction, live music and more.

CRESSKILL: Construction on the Farmhouse Cafe at 29 East Madison Avenue (affiliated with Mom’s Cooking) continues, though the sign still proclaims a spring opening (see photo below). UPDATE: They have announced an opening date of Saturday, June 23rd.

HO-HO-KUS: The Ho-Ho-Kus Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Taste of Ho-Ho-Kus June 7th from 6-9:30pm featuring food & drink from 10+ area establishments.

EDGEWATER: Mistuwa Marketplace is hosting their annual “Japanese Gourmet Fair” from Thursday June 21st thru Sunday June 24th featuring specialty food from all over Japan.

PARAMUS: IKEA welcomes the summer season with joy, romance and their Midsummer Smorgasbord on June 15th (seatings at 3pm and 6pm).

RIVER VALE: The Cherry Brook Restaurant & Bar (at River Vale Country Club; which is open to the public) will be hosting a Cigar night on June 14th featuring a 4 course dinner outdoors (weather permitting) with wine and a great selection of cigars. An after dinner single malt scotch tasting will also be included.

MAYWOOD: Pei Wei Asian Diner (an offshoot of PF Chang’s restaurant that serves freshly prepared and made to order dishes with roots in five different Asian countries) has opened at 83 W. Spring Valley Avenue.

RIDGEWOOD: A Mano will be hosting a pizza demo and tasting with pizza master Antonio Starita (who brought “Montanara” (lightly fried dough pizza that is popping up in pizzerias all over NYC) style pizza to the US) on June 21st.

ENGLEWOOD: Muscle Maker Grill on Palisade Avenue is under construction and will reopen as Red Parrot Bistro. In the interim, they will continue to operate as Muscle Maker Grill but will completely close and reopen as the new restaurant once the renovations are complete.

HAWORTH: Andiamo Restaurant will be hosting their next Comedy Night on Wednesday June 27th with 4 Courses by Chef Linda and 3 Hysterical Comedians featuring Ventriloquist Pete Michaels.
