Bergen County’s Anticipated Restaurant Openings for Fall

It may not technically be fall in the first (or even the second) week of September, but that hasn’t stopped the editor from calling in the “heavily researched” list of Bergen County’s most anticipated restaurant openings for the season.

As temperatures begin to drop and the leaves prepare to change, a fresh wave of restaurants is set to join the local dining scene this fall. While some openings may slip into next year, most are expected to debut before the end of December.

Josh Capon will be opening at The Shops at Riverside in Hackensack (Read Story), this is the first North Jersey spot for the celeb chef and Tenafly resident.

A spot offering “all day brunch, tapas, and new American cuisine with a hint of Latin” is headed to Westwood (Read Story), there’s a farm to table tavern coming to Wyckoff (Read Story) and we’ll see an Irish gastropub concept in Sloatsburg (Read Story).

A number of area businesses are expanding into or within Bergen County, including donut shop in Englewood (Read Story), Vietnamese in Cresskill (Read Story), Kosher deli in Cresskill (Read Story), a Latin American eatery in Fort Lee (Read Story), Korean fried chicken in Hackensack (Read Story), healthy bowls in Edgewater (Read Story) and juice bar in Teaneck (Read Story).

Coffee and tea never sleep, with a gothic cafe in Westwood (Read Story) and “upscale” Jersey coffee in Hillsdale (Read Story).

There’s also new Italian coming to Hillsdale (Read Story), takeout Thai in Dumont (Read Story), and Japanese eatery specializing in sushi & chicken in Fort Lee (Read Story).

Plenty of national chains are expanding with locations including brunch in Paramus (Read Story), protein shakes in Ridgewood (Read Story), fried chicken in Fairfield (Read Story) and wings in North Arlington (Read Story).

What else? Plenty. This list is already a handful—and there’s more on the way. We’re hearing early rumblings about some intriguing new spots, though nothing official has been confirmed just yet.
