When Bucu opened to significant fanfare back in 2011, the concept was unique in it’s attempt to combine two white hot restaurant trends: Burgers and Cupcakes (the name uses the first two letters of each).

Over the last 2 years the menu has expanded to include items like wings and cheesesteaks, but with increased competition creeping into the nearby area (BOOM Burger, Zinburger, Steak ‘n Shake, Bobby’s Burger Palace) it’s probably interesting to note that sales have grown every year since opening. According to an article in FastCasual, since they’ve opened for business they’ve never had a down month.

For those not in the area take note, expansion plans on in the works. And we have one question for the owners of Bucu… what every happened to your Burger eating contest?
