Update: Rony’s Rockin’ Grill Bergenfield is open

If you were a fan of Rony’s Rock Burger in Glen Rock, here’s some exciting news. Owner Rony Alvarado, who closed the burger shop last April, is returning with a new restaurant called Rony’s Rockin’ Grill in Bergenfield which is replacing casual Mexican spot La Batalla.

Alvarado revealed that he’s bringing over the entire menu (view that menu on Facebook) from Glen Rock, plus some additions like classic chicken dishes, homemade pasta and full breakfast service on the weekends.

As far as the burgers go, they’ll be 6oz patties made from his custom blend of brisket, chuck steak and porterhouse tips, grilled on a flat top and served with a bun from The Bakery (which is located a few doors down the block).

Almost everything will be made in house: the sides (onion rings, fries, sweet potato fries), dressings, pastas and desserts.

The 1000 square foot dining room will seat 38 for lunch and dinner, with that additional breakfast on the weekends. Alvarado expects to be open sometime in May.
