Bergen County’s Anticipated Openings for Fall 2017

It’s beginning to cool off and then the leaves will change colors, as Autumn shepherds in yet another crop of restaurants to the area. And don’t be surprised if some one this get pushed to next year – though we expect most of these to open sometime before the end of December.

The biggest news is the supermarket chain finally opening up in Bergen (Wegmans) after a long wait from the renovation of DePiero’s Farm, a Michelin-starred chef making his way into the scene on Schraalenburgh Road (The Hill) and the return of Chef Adam Weiss in Glen Rock (Stone & Rail).

Popular towns as usual are Ridgewood with juice, smoothies and bowls (Samba Bowls) – plus the revamp of a classic bar and restaurant (The Office). Also is Fort Lee with falafel (Mamouns), and coffee (Bean and Bean) as is Englewood with new family-style Italian (Red White and Pasta) and a certain fried chicken sandwich chain you may have heard of (Chick-Fil-a).

With the usual influx of chains, we’ll see two healthy spots with Fair Lawn (b. good) and Paramus (Cava). And let’s not forget about the Southern diner chain making it’s way to Garfield (Huddle House) or the the “luxurious” market on Route 4 in Paramus (Gourmanoff).

Then there’s arepas at the mall (Salsa Arepa Bistro), another addition to a restaurant family in Carlstadt (Segovia Meson), Indian in Westwood (Downtown Dhaba), fusion sandwiches in Cliffside Park (Wich One), artisan bakery and petit bistro in Closter (Patisserie Florentine) and a Real Houswife pedling pizza (Pizza Love)

Most likely other announcements are coming down the pipeline, in fact there’s some rumblings of interesting new places coming, though nothing confirmed at this point. Stay tuned and enjoy your fall of eating!
