NJ.com has shared their picks for The 36 best New Jersey sushi restaurants, ranked, for 2024 (Read Full List).

With sushi being a “$27.5 billion industry” here in the United States, it’s quite popular.

This is the first time the publication has done this type of list, where they “roamed the state” looking for “sushi, sashimi, and rolls” — Boozy Burbs readers likely don’t need an explanation of those three items.

For those looking into criteria and methodology into how the list was tabulated, that specific information was not shared.

Among the places that made the cut, three were in Bergen County.

The highest ranking was at #12 for Shumi in Ridgewood (Website), which got lauded for it’s omakase and “high-grade fish” — they also have a location in Leonia.

Kura Revolving Sushi Bar in Fort Lee (Website) was named #30 where the “sushi is tasty” and the “experience is even better”.

Coming in at #32 was Sushi by Sea in Ridgefield (Website), the speakeasy spot that was also named among the best in the country by USA Today (Read Story).
