La Fortaleza, the now local Mexican restaurant mini-chain, is expanding to Clifton according to their social media. This is hot on the heels of similarly themed Viva Margarita – which just opened it’s third location in Edgewater (View Opening Alert).

They are known for their menu (View Menu) of tacos, burritos, fajitas, quesadilla, cemitas, entrees and more. There is also a full bar serves plenty of beer, sangria and margaritas – including the bulldog variety (View Recipe).

It’s a lively atmosphere with live music including mariachi, karaoke nights and more. According to their responses on the Instagram announcement, ownership expects to open sometime next month.
