The Daily Meal shared their list of the 150 Best Bars in America (View Full List).

Their search reveled everything from “beach bars”, “cocktail lounges”, places using “molecular mixology”, “dive bars” and more. Literally shared as there would be some place “for everyone”.

Not a huge surprise that McGovern’s made the list – they were named best in the state back in November by the site – though there aren’t any others. The bar has been around for 80 years and feature a proximity to Penn Station (6 blocks). The mix of patrons (college students, police, office workers and blue collar types), and food like the Dublin Decker (corned beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing served on rye bread) were noted in the appeal.

McGovern’s is open six days a week (closed Sundays).
