The Daily Meal has revealed their choices for The Best Bar in Every State (Read Full Article). McGovern’s Tavern in Newark was the representative for our great state of New Jersey.
Open for 80 years, it’s proximity to Penn Station (6 blocks), mix of patrons (college students, police, office workers and blue collar types), and food like the Dublin Decker (corned beef, turkey, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing served on rye bread) were noted in the appeal.
McGovern’s is open six days a week (closed Sundays).
