Burgehaus, a new burger restaurant, has opened in Clifton. Founded by area residents Edwin Decena (filmmaker) and Salvatore Costa ( The Good Life, Bar & Grill; Union City), who claim this is “not your typical” burger joint.

Chef and creator, Alex De Jesus (Burger Eatery; Jersey City) has created a simple menu (see below) that aims to “mindfully source and prepare” ingredients to “achieve the best flavor”.

This includes the time spent finding the right purveyors – like locally raised beef from Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors, hand cut fries using Idaho potatoes, sauces, local ice cream – with an open kitchen to display even the produce being used.

There’s nothing frozen with specials and off-the-menu items are posted on social media. Everything is made to order, with promise that “your taste buds will thank you later”.

While this is the first store, plans are to open more in the future. The current location seats 30 for lunch and dinner, with hours daily beginning at 11am Monday thru Saturday and noon on Sunday.
