New Pastry Chef at Viaggio in Wayne

Kaitlyn Algarin has been named the new pastry chef at acclaimed Italian eatery Viaggio in Wayne.

Kaitlyn received her bachelor’s degree in baking and pastry from The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park and completed her externship at Restaurant Latour (Crystal Springs Resort) where she worked under Executive Chef Anthony Bucco and Chef Martyna Krowicka. She also spent a semester in Napa, studying advanced pastry under Chef Stephen Durfee at The Culinary’s Greystone campus.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute, she worked as pastry assistant catering weddings and corporate events at Cedar Lakes Estate in Orange County, NY under Executive Chef Rebecca Weitzman.

The dessert menu is currently undergoing it’s first look under her direction. According to details from the restaurant, she is looking forward to working with Chef Robbie Felice, creating “delicious seasonal” treats.
