La Taberna, a restaurant and bar featuring steaks and tapas, has opened in Dumont at the former location of Ryan’s Public House. It’s owned by Lazaro Negrin, who owns nearby Sayola in Tenafly – his thought being the area is missing this type of establishment.

The menu does have it’s share of tapas (though not limited to it) and does cover some Spanish fare. However it also has items like pizza, flatbreads and wings – plus sandwiches, burgers more for lunch.

A full bar has seven wide screens to watch the game and happy hour from 5:00-7:00pm. The 120 seat space is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner with plans for entertainment and brunch come fall.
