It seemed like many (in the media at least) were surprised to hear Applebee’s would be shuttering 130+ locations last week. The chain reported disappointing earnings after upgrading their stores with things like wood-fired grills and new menu items last year.

Doherty Enterprises, which operates many Applebee’s franchises in the area, has come out to ease fears about local locations according to NJ.com (Read Full Article). A spokesperson confirmed with the outlet, saying they didn’t plan on closing any of their stores.

The entire list (published in the article), includes all their Bergen County area locations including Clifton, Garfield, Hackensack, Northvale, Paramus, and Totowa. Now maybe they’ll bring back the riblets…
