Two Bergen Chefs To Appear at NYC Wine & Food Festival


Galo “Empanada Boss” Grijalva of Empanada Mania and Robert “Austin” Cho of Kimchi Smoke have been selected to serve thousands and be part of the New York City Wine & Food Festival’s Coca Cola Backyard BBQ event hosted by Bobby Flay and Michael Symon.

The event will take place this Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 4:00-7:00pm on the rooftop of PIER 92 in NYC. One of the items they will be serving is a smoked sweet Thai chili pork empanada. It is a 12 hour smoked pork with green onion, cilantro, touch of lime, and a Thai Chili sauce, providing for some sweet heat; pretty mild. It will be served Taconada-style which is an Empanada/Taco hybrid with their pickled cabbage and chipotle drizzle.
