The Daily Meal has released its fifth annual list of the Best Colleges in America for Food, expanding the size to 80 total (up from 75 previously). To assemble this ranking, 2,000 colleges were whittled down after rigorous research and outreach to their dining services. These colleges were highly respected for a variety of reasons across the country and had dining programs that caught the editors’ attention.

The final 80 were ranked by scoring based on the following criteria: Accessibility and Service, Education and Events, Surrounding Area and The “X” Factor. One institution of higher learning in NJ made the list – Princeton University (#47), which was also named one of the Top 24 College Food Towns earlier this year. And even closer to Bergen County, two NYC universities – Columbia (#2) and NYU (#7) – made the top 10.
