Dining Tenants at Closter Plaza So Far

villagewhiskey_32

The renovation of Closter Plaza seems closer to reality as a number of major announcements have been made by the property owners over the last few weeks. Of course this includes our breaking scoops (many which were many months ago) regarding various food tenants – this is what we know so far:

Rudy’s – the longtime pizza and Italian restaurant is currently open for business (recent profile in Daily Voice) and will still have a home when construction is complete – Website

Whole Foods Market – the mall anchor has seen much speculation since whispers of the supermarket chain began as early as 2008. Eight years may seem like an eternity, but the Stop & Shop replacement is opening later this year – Website

Village Whiskey – one of the restaurants from Jose Garces, an Iron Chef winner and Philly restaurateur. Village Whiskey is his homage to a bar for the chef and other kitchen employees could have a drink and the “best damn burger in town” – Website

Distrito – one of the restaurants from Jose Garces, an Iron Chef winner and Philly restaurateur. Distrito takes wraps small plates and comtemporary Mexican cuisine and culture into one package. And lots of tequila – Website

Bareburger – the responsible burger chain uses meats that are organic, all natural, grass-fed, cage-free, pasture raised, hormone-free, antibiotic-free, and contain no GMO’s. The Edgewater location at City Place was their first in Jersey – Website

Cinemex – The dine-in luxury theater chain is opening two locations in New Jersey (the other in East Rutherford) that should feature curated eats by Chef Mikel Alonso
