Stop & Shop, which is replacing the A&P in Closter — and making it’s return to the town, is expected to convert their purchased A&P locations approximately a week after they begin according to a report by NJ.com. They expect to covert them in waves of five — they purchased 25 stores from the bankrupt supermarket chain – with all being converted by November 13th (the start date of Closter has not been disclosed).

Don Sussman, president of Stop & Shop New York Metro Division was quoted “Stop & Shop is committed to improving the overall shopping experience in these 25 stores to meet the quality, selection and savings that customers have come to expect from us.”
