It appears when it comes to small-batch coffee, New Jersey has some street cred. Eater published a list of 14 Small-Batch Coffee Roasters Elevating Your Cup of Joe — roasters who “innovate” roasting techniques, “experiment liberally with taste” and tend to be “more transparent about the suppliers”.

Two Jersey companies were mentioned on said list. Royal Mile Coffee Roasters in Haddon Township — selling online and at Whole Foods and Mod Cup in Jersey City — a cafe/roaster who don’t serve past 18 days after the roast date and have strong ties to their Colombian farm supplier.
