We could go on about sauce, what makes the best crust and how we like our cheese — we can even debate different regional styles (New York, Neopolitan, CT/New Haven, Chicago) — but lets just get to the heart of it: with a list culled down from 800 pizzerias and 50?! expert panelists, how did NJ fare in the 101 Best Pizzas in America from The Daily Meal for 2015?

Four made it including Star Tavern, Orange (#82, Website), Brooklyn’s Pizza, Hackensack (#72 and lone Bergen County entry, Website) and two ‘tomato pie’ spots in Robbinsville — Delorenzo’s (#29, Website) and Papa’s (#12, Website). Orange Tavern was the only pizzeria on the list to crack NJ.coms most recent NJ Pizza Power Rankings, coming in at number 7. And speaking of CT-style pies, New Haven gem Frank Pepe’s was named #1.
