It’s the day after National Hot Dog Day and Peter Genovese over at NJ.com shared his list of NJ’s 25 Best Hot Dog Joints. North Jersey is highly represented on the list, in particular a number of Bergen and Passaic hot dogs were highly regarded by the writer – including three from Clifton, which included the #1 overall Rutt’s Hut.

The other notables in the area were Hot Grill in Clifton (19), The New Corral in Clifton (15), Hiram’s in Fort Lee (9), Rosie’s Weenie Wagon in Englewood Cliffs (8), and Karl Ehmer Meats in Hillsdale. According to Genovese, Hot Dog House in Carlstadt just missed the list – while Callahan’s in Norwood made it to his “up and coming” selections.
