Top 75 Hot Dogs in America 2015

The Daily Meal is at it with their latest ‘best of’, this time its America’s 75 Best Hot Dogs for 2015. The humble hot dog is pitied in the pieces as it doesn’t get the love of it’s “perennial grill mate” (aka hamburgers) – but that’s certainly “an art form” when “constructing the perfect hot-dog-eating experience”.

The winners were chosen taking into account: style of hot dog (including particular tastes and culinary traditions of region). online reviews from locals, overall reputation among those in the know, quality of the ingredients — like sourcing from well-known local producers, and the “entire experience”.

There were four places on the list located in New Jersey, in fact three of them are in Northern NJ. Acknowledged were Rutt’s Hut in Clifton (#12), Jimmy Buff’s Italian Hot Dogs in West Orange/Kenilworth (#59), Tommy’s in Elizabeth (#70) and Max’s Famous Hot Dogs in Long Branch (#74).
