The reason there are no Dave & Buster’s in NJ? A 56 year old ban on booze being served a places with amusement games according to a report by NJ.com. And on Monday, a new bill approved that could allow the chain to open up in Jersey. This isn’t the first try for the firm, they’ve been pushing for a lift of the ban since at least 2013.

For those unfamimliar, the bar, video game and indoor amusement chain offers a menu (View Menu) of “American grill” items, full bar and entertainment in the form of amusement park games and video arcade under one roof.

Of course this ban shouldn’t have made it particularly unfamiliar to greater Bergen County residents, Dave & Buster’s has been a longtime tenant of Palisades Center in West Nyack.
