St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Cooking for Kids on April 14th

Join 50 of the metropolitan area’s top chefs, restaurants and beverage purveyors for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital’s Eighth Annual Cooking for Kids: Gourmet Fare From Everywhere!  on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park, NJ> Presented by the Infusino Family, this signature event for St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital has become a “must attend” for more than 600 guests who come from all over New York and New Jersey to sample delectable dishes and drinks. Boozy Burbs is serving as one of the media sponsors for this year’s event.

Confirmed participants include Bravo TV’s Top Chef contestant Chef Ariane Duarte of Ariane Kitchen & Bar in Verona, NJ; winner of the Food Network’s Chopped, Chef Michael Carrino from Pig & Prince Gastro Lounge in Montclair; Chopped contestant Chef Ryan DePersio of Fascino in Montclair, NJ, Nico Kitchen + Bar at NJPAC and Battello in Jersey City, NJ; Food Network’s Sweet Genius contestant Chef Colleen Grapes of Oceana in New York, NY;  Chef Eric B. Levine of Morris Tap & Grill in Randolph, NJ and Paragon Tap & Table of Clark, NJ, also a winner of Chopped; winner of the Food Network’s Cutthroat Kitchen, Chef Francesco Palmieri of The Orange Squirrel in Bloomfield, NJ; and Chef Anton Testino of the Mulberry Street Café in Waldwick, NJ, a contestant on this past season of Fox TV’s Hell’s Kitchen; and over 30 other chefs who will offer samplings of their signature dishes. In addition, Gary’s Wine & Marketplace will be once again serving as the event’s Beverage Sponsor, offering guests tasting pours of fine wines and spirits. Chefs Carrino, DePersio, Levine and Testino will be facing off in a cooking competition in the VIP Red Carpet Reception.

Over the past eight years, Cooking for Kids has raised over one million dollars for the patients and families of St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital. Some of the many programs and projects funded over the years as a direct result of this event include educational tutoring services for young patients so they can remain up-to-date on their schoolwork while undergoing treatments; the purchase of specialized medical equipment, including new cribs for our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit; funding for children and their families to celebrate National Cancer Survivor Day; and a variety of fun activities such as face painting, pet therapy, and much, much more.
