With snow still on the forecast, it’s hard to get into the “spring” of things. However the mercury has been slowly rising, hitting the 50s a few times in the last week. All that means is another season is upon us, with the usual anticipation of new dining that piques interests abound the county.

There’s some new eating and drinking establishments – food and cocktail, what a concept! A longtime watering hole is being replaced in Dumont (Ryan’s Pubilc House). Cuban food, small plates with sangria lounge in New Milford (Casual Habana Cafe). Hand-crafted food and drink in a casual dining space in Hawthorne (Artisan Kitchen & Bar).

Garden State Plaza has a bunch of openings this season: there’s conveyor belt sushi (Yo Sushi!), fast casual Greek (GRK Fresh), halal Mediterranean and falafel (Just Falafel) and an innovative kitchen, bath, and home appliance retail with hands-on (Pirch).

Breakfast spot in Fort Lee is moving to Edgewater (Original Pancake House), while an Italian restaurant is spreading with a new concept/location in Hillsdale (Della Cucina). Not to mention some unknown buffet is coming to Tappan, though let’s hope details are coming soon as they’ve been hiring staff as of late (Bon Fahyr BBQ).

Fair Lawn’s “Chipotle” of halal platters is opening a second location in Hackensack (Juicy Platters) and a certain hot dog place is returning to it’s retail roots in Norwood (Callahan’s).
