Ultimate Chef Bergen County 2015 was a go today with Round 2, featuring Chef Ralph Perrotti of St. Eve’s in Ho-Ho-Kus squaring off against Chef Aldo Diaz of Morton’s Steakhouse in Hackensack. The chefs create four dishes for the event: the secret ingredient for the round was coconut with Chef Diaz winning the round.

Dishes included this round were Coconut-braised Pulpo and Coconut beet Borscht some Churros found their way into the dessert course. Chef Diaz will now face-off next week on Saturday, January 24, 2015 in the finals against Round 1 winner Chef Carlos Valdez of Oceanaire in Hackensack — which we’ve dubbed “Battle Riverside Shops”. Same time, same place — which would be Chef Central in Paramus at 11:00am.
