East Newark restaurant Tops Diner, which is annually listed among the best diners in the state, has been the deemed the NJ representative of Thrillist’s The Most Iconic Restaurant in Every State in 2015. Restaurants culled for this list have all been around for at least 30 years and must still be a “crowd favorite — though it is unclear how that piece is determined. Good food is not a requirement — though it probably helps — for those eateries making the list.
