Italian restaurant il Fresco in Orangeburg (Website) will be the feature on tonight’s episode of Celebrity Taste Makers (Website; Sundays, WPIX 11 at 5:30pm), with Broadway legend Chita Rivera. Celebrity Taste Makers is a weekly show featuring host Lisa Mateo traveling with a celebrity to their favorite dining spot or watering hole, uncovering what they love to eat and teach the viewer the recipe of their favorite dish.

The episode is highlighted with il Fresco’s chef Andrew Garritano and the family recipe for Penne Arrabiatta, plus Chita’s joint interview with brother Frank. Topics include Chita’s start on Broadway and the transformation of 18th century farmhouse into the eatery now known as il Fresco.

Chita Rivera chose to tape at the restaurant since she’s been a patron since they opened over 13 years ago. The business is a full family operation: siblings Andrew (chef), Frank (front of house) and Raffaela (front of house) share their love of food with local diners on a daily basis.

The entire Garritano family is inviting guests to visit the restaurant tonight September 14, 2014 at 5:30pm for a viewing party by the bar. Those in attendance will have the opportunity to enjoy Chita’s favorite Lemon Drop Martini on the house.
