Opening Alert: Tisha’s Main Ingredient, Westwood, NJ


Tisha’s Main Ingredient, a restaurant serving a mix of cuisines for breakfast, lunch and dinner, has opened in Westwood. Run by the Premon family, who also own Thai Chef (Montclair) and Vra (Wyckoff), Tisha’s is being spearheaded by daughter Tisha along with her brother Jeff (though he’ll be opening his own Thai restaurant in Westwood later this year) and father Veera in the kitchen.

Though currently in soft open mode, Tisha explained that breakfast will feature pastries and eggs, lunch more sandwiches, salads and soups, with dinner or “after dark” a full menu of entrees and more. They are currently serving a mix of American, Italian and Asian dishes, the menu will evolve a bit till the grand opening planned for the fall.

Most of the breads and pastries are brought in daily from Eli’s Breads, though Veera makes a  number of tarts – plus their “world famous” souffles (which need to be ordered pre-meal). Everything else is pretty much homemade including soups and sauces – in fact they will bottle up any of the salad dressings for sale that customers can take home.

The restaurant holds approximately 30-40 with an additional 30 seats in their outdoor patio. Tisha’s is open 7 days for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
