Opening Alert: Joyce Chinese Cuisine, River Edge, NJ
Stewed Chicken with Ginger Wine in Casserole
Joyce Chinese Cuisine, the Szechuan fine dining restaurant, has opened in River Edge. Owner Leo Le says his restaurant features traditional Szechuan-style food ― typically dishes with less or no sauce, but spicy ― which is one of the 8 main Chinese cuisines.
Le’s wife already operates a takeout spot in Fort Lee named Joyce Chinese. This new restaurant is his attempt to create a spot for those looking for authentic Chinese food without the need to cross a bridge to New York. He’s brought in Chef Zhao, who’s worked in a number of Szechuan kitchens in Manhattan (Chengdu) and Philly.
Of course there’s some of the American Chinese dishes for those who aren’t as adventurous, but they menu will be dominated by authentic Szechuan tastes. The 2000 square foot restaurant is BYOB, will house approximately 110 seats and is open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
