Blue Moon Mexican Cafe has recently updated it’s menu and owner Howie Felixbrod revealed, β€œWe listened to our guests and as always we try and give them what they want.” Apparently they wanted tortas and tacos, cause that’s what got.

Tortas, the traditional Mexican sandwiches, are only available for lunch. Made with choice of meat, then garnished with refried beans, lime cilantro aioli, sliced avocado and queso fresco. These sandwiches are served on a traditional Bolillo roll, similar to Portuguese roll, but oval in shape with a cripser texture and the slightest hint of sweet from the drop of honey used when baking.

The new tacos are avaialble for both lunch and dinner. They’ve been dubbed “street” since they were created to be more authentic than Blue Moon’s previous Tex-mex options. This includes using soft white corn tortillas, fillings like carnitas and shreded beef, plus garnishment with chopped onion, cilantro and queso fesco.

These sandwiches and tacos are available at all Blue Moon locations. Locations in Bergen County include Englewood, Woodcliff Lake and Wyckoff. For more information, visit their website at http://www.bluemoonmexicancafe.com.

  1. Too funny! I suspect they’re losing out to the REAL Mexican restuarants in Englewood.

  2. (oh)

what we mean is, they prob don’t worry if people are looking for cocktails too πŸ™‚

      • In my one or two times to Blue Moon, I have had more cheese there covering anything and everything than my 18 (so far) trips to Mexico. In my opinion,On the Border is very authentic for a chain. Otherwise I go to Passiac or Englewood.
YES, I criticize; Yelp and Tripadvisor as well as my own blog and yours πŸ™‚
        Hope it’s not too much

Fair is fair. We haven’t had a chance to try the new items, but we’ll let you know after we do.
And as far as criticism, we have no issue with the constructive kind.
