MBM (short for My Beautiful Mind) Restaurant, a new “retro-Italian” and “creative American” establishment from restaurant industry vet Thomas Williams, opens in Wayne beginning today for both lunch and dinner. The 120 seat spot will operate 7 days a week as a restaurant and as a nightlife venue Thursday-Saturdays till 3:00am, though GM Dave Feeback promises that they are a “restaurant first and foremost”.

Chef Robert Angelo (Michaelangelo’s in Newark) is overseeing the kitchen, working a farm to table seasonal menu which will source from local farms (when possible). Everything is made in house, including the baking of all their breads and all the desserts. The lunch menu (see below) is sandwich-heavy with some lighter entree options, while the dinner menu (see below) is home to a wide array of pastas, pizzas and Italian entrees with those “creative American” influences.

The bar features 44 taps with many craft beers. A hand selected wine list (by the GM Feeback) will offer many “gems” with bottles “not seen anywhere else” and there is a selection of specialty cocktails and martinis. One of bars (there are two) was crafted by chopping off the front end of a Rolls Royce Shadow and building the draft system into it (see above), which Feeback promises is “unique” and “different”. There is also 42 TVs and a 135″ projector for those looking to watch sporting events.

The lounge portion of the business is hosting a “Grand Unveiling” on Saturday, January 25th. Expect DJs, live dancing and more 10:30pm till 3:00am Thursdays thru Saturdays (bottle service will be offered during those hours).
