Tarts & Flours Bake Shop in Hackensack Opens November 9th

Tarts & Flours Bake Shop, a new local artisan bakery in Hackensack (that was formerly Semisweet Desserts), will officially open its doors next Saturday, November 9, 2013. The bakery sells an assortment of breakfast quiches, muffins, cookies, cookie bars, brownies, cupcakes, tarts, cakes and French macarons. The newly renovated bakery will continue to allow owner and pastry chef  Marisa Iapiccto take “well-known favorites” and put a “modern twist on them”.

Iapicco trained at the Institute of Culinary Education and previously worked in NYC restaurants and an Italian bakery and cookie factory. She first launched Tarts & Flours in 2008 (as the aforementioned Semisweet Desserts) in her home in Pennsylvania. Now with her new 1,000 square foot space, she plans to expand with both walk-in patrons and her exisiting custom order business.
