The annual Oktoberfest at Mountain Creek Resort (200 Route 94, Vernon, NJ) is the largest Oktoberfest celebration in New Jersey (and the Northeast), drawing 15,000 guests. It’s also one of the oldest, with 28th edition taking place this year. Over 50 German beers will be poured.

The event is fun for the entire family with rides, games, food, live music, dancing and more – and, of course, beer. Kids can enjoy pony rides, a petting zoo, animal shows, clowns, balloons, a trampoline, face painting, sand art, a pie eating contest, the potato sack race, bounce house and more. Carnival rides include a Ferris Wheel, the Mountain Coaster, the Soaring Eagle and a fun house. Entertainment options will offer something for everyone from live magic and animal shows featuring bears, eagles, falcons and wolves to live bands performing on the main stage all day. The food will feature German classics like bratwurst, knockwurst, weisswurst, potato pancakes, German potato salad alongside German beers.

This year, a new VIP tent will be added with seating and an all-you-can-eat Oktoberfest buffet. The buffet features bratwurst, weisswurst, knockwurst, sliced roast pork, giant German pretzels and more from 1pm – 5pm. VIP ticketholders also receive a souvenir t-shirt and 1 liter beer stein. VIP tickets are $99.

Hours:  Sept. 21 from 11am – 9pm and Sept. 22 from 11am – 6pm. Admission is $5 per person (free for kids 5 and under) and includes parking – food, drink and rides are priced separately.
