Local outlets of Smashburger have announced that they will officially change the name of its New Jersey Burger to the Boston Burger from Wednesday, May 1st thru Friday, May 3rd and donate $1.00 from the sale of every burger sold to One Fund Boston. Mascott Corp CEO Scott Gillman, which operates the 13 stores throughout Northern and Central New Jersey, said “In light of the terrible tragedy that took place during the Boston Marathon, we wanted to show our support for the families of those who died and were severely injured.”

For those unaware, the New Jersey Burger features Applewood-smoked bacon, blue cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an onion bun. Smashburger has 13 locations throughout Northern and Central New Jersey, though Bergen County locations are in Hackensack, Paramus and Ramsey.

One Fund Boston (founded by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino) was created to raise money for those most affected by the tragic events that unfolded during The Boston Marathon.
