We had a chance to stop by the annual Dada Darshan Mela over in Closter to check out the music, games (for the kids), shops and most importantly food. Below are a bunch of shots from the different food tables. We didn’t get names of everything, though everything sampled was delicious. Missing are photos from some of the packaged foods and a shake station featuring Oreo smoothies!

Dhokla (Chickpea, yogurt steamed cake, Garnished with cilantro, Thai bird chilies and toasted sesame seeds)

Fried Green Chilies (aka Indian Jalapeno Poppers Coated with a Batter made from Milk and Chickpea Flour)

Bhel (mixture of chickpea fritters, puffed rice, crispy lentils, onions, potatoes,  cilantro, lemon juice, cilantro chutney and tamarind chutney)

Puris (Traditional Indian Bread (yeast-based))

Vada (Fried Lentil and Rice Cakes)
