Checking out a Southern Favorite at Chick-fil-A in Paramus, NJ
Nothing says classy like a mall food court 🙂
Some food brands bring out a fervent loyalty by their loyalists and zealots, proclaiming that their favorite spot has the best pizza/hot dogs/etc. In N Out burgers is the example that comes to mind for many food fans (particularly those from the West Coast). Sometimes it’s a rallying cry similar to “us vs them” like with Coke versus Pepsi or McDonalds versus Burger King. Chick-fil-A falls in the former category. Legions of Southerners claim it to be the be-all-end-all of fried chicken sandwiches. McDonalds at one point even tried to clone their success to no avail. But success can be hard fought as Chik-fil-A’s growth into the Northeast has continued aggressively over the last decade.
And with the only NYC area location in an NYU dining hall… wait, there’s one 15 minutes away in Boozy Burbs land at the Paramus Park Mall. Surprisingly enough, Boozy Burbs is not a site for fast food reviews. But sometimes certainly places stand out and Chik-fil-A’s reputation among many food blogs and the like made them a target to show what they’re all about.
We love temperature-control packaging for food
And there she is: a Chicken Sandwich
The Chick-fil-A website describes the sandwich as “A boneless breast of chicken seasoned to perfection, hand-breaded, pressure cooked in 100% refined peanut oil and served on a toasted, buttered bun with dill pickle chips”. It’s fried chicken on a buttered roll, nothing more and nothing less.
If you can see them, the pickles are under filet

We’re not much of hype-mongers over here at Boozy Burbs, so we’re not going to try to feed the fire of Chick-fil-A loyalists or hype deflating cynics. However if you find yourself at the mall and are interested in trying the South’s finest you can give one of these sandwiches a try and tell us in the comments what you think.
