The inaugural Donut Fest in New York City, an expansion of the original Donut Fest (held annually in Chicago), was held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Verboten in Brooklyn. Though they were the only Jersey representative in the mix of the 9 donut competitors/vendors, Glaze Donuts of New Milford (soon to Wayne and Hackensack) was awarded the grand prize of Best Donut by the expert judge’s panel for their Cannoli Donut (yeast bismarck donut filled with cannoli cream and topped with cannoli cream, crumbled cannoli shells, powdered sugar and a Maraschino cherry).
