Callahan’s Returning as a Food Truck

callahans

No, that is not a misprint. Callahan’s, the legendary hot dog purveyor is returning to Bergen County. Daniel DeMiglio, the grandson of founder Leonard “Artie” Castranni, was raised in the family business and is excited to bring it back as a 3rd generation owner.

DeMiglio has purchased a food truck and Callahan’s hot dogs are being reborn on wheels. The truck will allow him to be in different parts of Bergen County, serving the classic Callahan’s food at farmer’s markets, weekend festivals, catering and much more.

Die hard fans should be excited to know that everything about the Callahan’s experience is going to be the same. According to DeMiglio, he’ll be using all his grandfather’s tried and true recipes. He’ll be supplying the dogs, fries… everything from the original vendors. Absolutely nothing will change, especially the service and the quality.

The biggest question right now is when can you get those dogs? DeMigilio is officially grand launching the truck at the 2014 Fort Lee Arts & Music Festival on June 1, 2014, though they will hit some spots before that. He’ll be keeping the rest of his plans up to date on Facebook (Link), Twitter (Link) and his website (Link).
