Upscale Restaurant Bringing Korean Royal Court Cuisine to North Jersey

A new Korean restaurant is coming soon to Bergen County.

Sura On Main is preparing to open at 240 Main Street in Hackensack, taking over the space most recently occupied by Emma and previously home to Cap’s Diner.

The restaurant describes its concept as elevated Korean cuisine inspired by traditional Korean royal court cooking—typical food from the Joseon Dynasty (Read Wikipedia entry)—with the phrase “Korean royal cuisine, brought to the table” featured in its promotional materials.

Sura is expected to offer an upscale dining experience with a focus on Korean culinary traditions, while plans also appear to include a bar.

Preparations for the restaurant are underway, as it works toward its launch.

An opening date and additional menu details have not yet been announced.
