Ruka is Coming Soon to Hackensack
A new Japanese restaurant is coming soon to Bergen County.
Ruka’s Japanese Restaurant is preparing to open at 413 Route 17 in Hackensack, taking over the former Bayside Boil space at the former Pathmark Plaza.
The restaurant signed a lease for the 4,059-square-foot space earlier this year, with the location marking Ruka’s first restaurant in New Jersey.
A newly released menu provides a closer look at the concept, with sushi and sashimi joined by hibachi, ramen, poke bowls, noodles, fried rice and a selection of Japanese appetizers.
The sushi side of the menu includes traditional selections, platters and an extensive lineup of specialty rolls, including several named for New Jersey and the surrounding area.
The restaurant joins a shopping center undergoing additional changes, including G-Mart helping re-anchor the property.
An opening date has not yet been announced.
