Opening Alert: Juhu, Totowa, NJ

A new café blending Indian flavors with contemporary breakfast and lunch favorites has officially opened in Totowa.

Juhu is now welcoming customers at 517 Union Boulevard, where siblings Hemali and Harsh Patel have created a bright, modern café centered around fresh, nourishing food and their Indian American upbringing.

The concept was partly inspired by Hemali’s five years living in Los Angeles, where she developed an appreciation for the city’s produce-forward, health-conscious food culture.

After returning to New Jersey, she and Harsh set out to combine that approach with Indian ingredients, family recipes and the foods they grew up eating.

The result is a menu the siblings describe as distinctly Indian American, with dishes ranging from bhurji to more familiar breakfast staples such as bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches.

Juhu also serves fresh breakfast items, sandwiches and salads alongside coffee, matcha and house-brewed masala chai.

The café takes its name from Juhu, the beachfront neighborhood in Mumbai, with the space designed to reflect that coastal influence through a light-filled and relaxed atmosphere.

Juhu is currently open Monday through Saturday.
