A Bergen County café specializing in Argentinian pastries and specialty coffee is preparing to expand with a second location.

Café Baires is coming soon to Paterson Avenue in East Rutherford, following the opening of its original café at 210 Main Street in downtown Hackensack last year.

The business describes itself as an “authentic Argentinian bakery and coffee house” and invites customers to “discover the heart of Buenos Aires” through its food and drinks.

The menu at its Hackensack location includes traditional Argentinian offerings such as medialunas and empanadas, along with other pastries, sandwiches and café-style food.

Coffee is another major part of the concept, with espresso drinks, café con leche, matcha and specialty beverages including dulce de leche-inspired drinks among the offerings.

The original Hackensack café occupies a spacious former bank building with multiple seating areas, while photos shared by Café Baires show the new East Rutherford space currently being prepared for opening.

An opening date for the East Rutherford location has not yet been announced.
