Several Bergen County ice cream shops earned recognition in NJ.com’s annual ranking of New Jersey’s best ice cream destinations for 2026 (View List).

The statewide list, compiled by NJ.com food writers, ranks 83 ice cream shops across New Jersey based on visits, recommendations and editorial selections.

A total of six Bergen County shops appeared on the 2026 list, representing communities throughout the county with everything from longtime neighborhood favorites to newer destinations. The Bergen County shops recognized are:

No. 9 – Francy’s Artisanal Ice Cream (Bergenfield)
One of the highest-ranked Bergen County entries, Francy’s was recognized for its tropical-inspired flavors, including lychee, yuzu, passion fruit, mango graham and guayabano.

No. 45 – Cranberry Junction (Hackensack)
NJ.com highlighted the shop’s rich chocolate ice cream along with flavors including banana pudding, dulce de leche, coconut and vanilla chocolate chip.

No. 54 – Daniela’s Ice Cream (Closter)
The publication praised Daniela’s ginger ice cream while also recommending the apricot and pistachio combination.

No. 62 – Conrad’s Confectionary (Westwood)
Operating since 1928, Conrad’s was recognized for its homemade chocolates, hot fudge and scratch-made toppings, with the black raspberry flavor receiving special mention.

No. 66 – Van Dyk’s Ice Cream (Ridgewood)
A Bergen County institution for nearly 50 years, Van Dyk’s was noted for its classic flavors alongside options such as cappuccino Oreo, lemon vanilla and blueberry pie.

No. 80 – Ice Cream Charlie’s (Rutherford)
The Rutherford shop earned a spot on the list thanks to its wide variety of flavors, including caramel Kit Kat and Rice Krispy Treat, as well as its signature soft-serve sand pails.
