Oda Burek Brings Traditional Balkan Pastries to Garfield

A new destination for traditional Balkan pastries has officially opened in Bergen County.

Oda Burek is now serving customers at 95 Frederick Street in Garfield, specializing in handmade burek and other traditional specialties inspired by Albanian cuisine.

According to the eatery, Oda Burek was created to preserve and share authentic recipes that have been passed down through generations while blending tradition with modern craftsmanship.

The menu centers around freshly baked burek available by the slice or whole pie, with fillings including beef, spinach, cheese, yogurt and potato. Guests can also order rolled burek, dessert options such as tres leches and cheesecake, and a selection of beverages.

The restaurant describes itself as “a traditional eatery” where “tradition meets modern craftsmanship,” with an emphasis on freshly prepared food and authentic flavors.

Oda Burek is currently open Monday through Sunday, with hours varying by day.
