A new upscale restaurant concept is coming soon to Bergen County.

Novu Restaurant is preparing to open in Ridgefield, taking over the former Gotham City Diner space.

The restaurant is being positioned as a contemporary dining destination, with its team describing Novu as an experience centered around “elevated flavors” and modern hospitality-additional details about the menu have not yet been announced.

Novu is also undergoing a significant transformation of the former diner.

Renderings show a redesigned exterior with outdoor dining, while the interior will feature Italian plaster, oak finishes, custom furniture, layered lighting and a central bar.

The project was designed by MMU Arch., which describes the space as an immersive dining environment incorporating a Scarpa-inspired terrazzo floor and a mix of curved forms, natural materials and contemporary architectural elements.

An opening date has not yet been announced.
