Crockett’s Fish Fry is Expanding to Hackensack

Crockett’s Fish Fry, a long-running seafood institution first established in 1953, is opening a new location on Main Street in Hackensack.

This will be the brand’s second location, with the other shop operating on Bloomfield Avenue in Montclair.

Crockett’s began as a raw seafood market and has since evolved into a popular spot for fried seafood, while maintaining its focus on freshness and quality.

In 1997, new ownership introduced subtle updates to the menu, incorporating Caribbean-inspired flavors into select side dishes, adding another layer to their offerings.

Menu staples include fried fish sandwiches (like whiting, catfish, tilapia, and porgie), seafood baskets (shrimp, scallops, oysters), and full dinners that come with sides like candied yams, collard greens, and mac and cheese.

Crockett’s emphasizes that their approach hasn’t been about reinventing, but instead perfecting the classics they’re known for.

No opening date has been announced at this time.
