Authentic Rockland: La Bamba Grocery, Sparkill, NY
Continuing our recent posts (we’ll call it a tour) of Rockland County, we’ve been getting tips lately with places to check out (Thanks Murray!). We plan on hitting a few more places over the next week or so, so send us some suggestions at blog@boozyburbs.com
We know as a Boozy Burbs reader, the idea of going to a grocery store to find the hidden restaurant in the back is old news and commonplace. At least when you go to the city… But in Sparkill? Walk into La Bamba, walk through the length of this grocery store, go through the Saloon Doors and enter a small restaurant with about 6 tables serving some authentic Mexican fare.
Without going crazy with detail: tacos, burritos, quesadillas… you get the drill. Getting beef tongue on our tacos is always a plus in our book! As we mentioned, the place is small with 6 (maybe 7) tables so don’t be surprised if you get their during a busy stretch and have to wait.
