Popular New York City Italian restaurant Serafina is preparing to open its first New Jersey location.

The restaurant will officially open on Tuesday, October 13, at 25 Highwood Avenue in Tenafly, marking the brand’s long-awaited arrival in Bergen County.

The location has been in development since 2024, when signage first appeared at the downtown property, which had previously been home to several restaurants.

Serafina is known for its Italian menu featuring pizza, pasta and other traditional dishes with a modern approach. The brand opened its first restaurant in 1995 and has since expanded to multiple locations, including several throughout Manhattan.

The new Tenafly restaurant features a redesigned interior with velvet seating, warm lighting and a full bar, bringing the brand’s dining concept across the Hudson River for the first time.
