MilkShake Factory has officially opened its first Bergen County location.

The dessert shop is now open at 63 E. Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood, bringing its handspun milkshakes, sundaes, molten chocolate cups and small-batch chocolates to downtown.

The Ridgewood location is owned and operated by Penn and Tara Miller-Jones, who first became familiar with MilkShake Factory while visiting their son at the University of Pittsburgh and became regular customers of the brand’s Forbes Avenue location.

MilkShake Factory’s menu includes milkshakes such as Chocolate Dipped Strawberry and Campfire S’mores, along with handcrafted sundaes, molten chocolate cups and housemade chocolate treats.

The brand says its signature ice cream is made fresh in-store daily using the founding Edwards family’s recipe.

MilkShake Factory traces its roots to Pittsburgh, where the family business began as a soda fountain and chocolate shop in 1914 before eventually expanding the concept through franchising.
