A century-old Bergen County diner has reopened with new owners.

Dumont Brothers Diner is now open at 45 West Madison Avenue in Dumont, continuing the history of a neighborhood diner that dates back to 1925.

Brothers Gus and John Grimanis have taken over the longtime space, bringing decades of experience in the New Jersey diner industry.

The brothers, originally from the Greek island of Andros, say the diner business has been part of their family for generations.

Rather than completely remake the restaurant, the new owners focused on preserving its character, including memorabilia and photographs, while cleaning, painting and repairing the space and replacing equipment that could no longer be maintained.

The menu has also been expanded with additional choices and homemade family recipes passed down through generations.

Dumont Brothers Diner is open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.
